The latest news from Ysgol Gymraeg Cwmbran

On the 14th of May an exhibition of the children’s art work will be held in the school hall. The pictures will be professionally framed and mounted on display stands. They will be available for purchase at the end of the exhibition.

Miss Elin Davies (Reception class teacher) will begin her maternity leave on the 5th of May. We wish her all the best for the next few months. Miss Manon Jones will replace her for the remainder of the term.

Congratulations to Miss Catrin Devonald (Year 2 teacher and Nursery and Reception Leader) who has been appointed as a lead teacher in a new school in Cardiff. Miss Devonald has taught at our school since 1997 and it will be a great loss to the school when she leaves us at the end of the summer term.

Congratulations to the successful ‘Keep me safe’ quiz team who competed in the annual quiz which was held at County Hall.

Thank you to everyone for their generous contributions during the Healthy Eating and Keep Fit week. The week was a great success and the ‘Skip Fit’ sessions raised £601 towards sports equipment for the school. A big thank you to Miss Catrin Evans for organising the whole week of events.

The school will be closed for staff training on the 25th of April and the 16th of June.
