End of Summer Term letter 2008

16th July 2008

The new term begins on the 2nd of September.
Enjoy the holidays!

We have had an extremely busy term and year here at Ysgol Gymraeg Cwmbrân and I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff for their hard work and dedication to the school. Many of the activities including the weekly Urdd Club, sports and musical practises have been held after school and I really appreciate my fantastic staff.

Many thanks to the PTA for raising so much money during the year. Discos have been organised on a regular basis and the Year 6 leaving party was a great success. The staff would also like to thank the parents who have helped us with the school trips.

Parents, pupils and staff have raised £801 for the Diabetes Wales Charity. Thank you very much for all of your contributions and your support during the year.
From September we will be supporting the CLAPA charity. This charity supports children who are affected by cleft lip or palate.

Thank you also to Mr and Mrs Howells for their gift to the school (a new football kit)

Congratulations to Miss Elin Davies on the birth of her son Harri Caradog and congratulations also to Miss Emma Harris who has given birth to a baby boy this week!

Miss Catrin Devonald will be leaving the school at the end of the term. I would like to thank her for all of her hard work and dedication to the school. We wish her all the best when she begins her new role in Cardiff in September.

We welcome Mrs Julie Powell, Miss Lowri Stockman and Miss Amy Harper to Ysgol Gymraeg Cwmbrân. They will be working in the Foundation Stage department from September. We also welcome Miss Bethan Morris to our family. Miss Morris will be teaching a Year 2 class in September.

Thank you to the parents for all of your support. This is my fifth year here at Ysgol Gymraeg Cwmbrân . My hair has gone greyer and thinner over the years but I am very proud of our achievements here. It would be impossible without your support and assistance.

You should be very proud of your children. Many visitors to the school have commented on their excellent behaviour and politeness. The standard of their Welsh oracy has also been praised on several occasions and our end of Key Stage results
are excellent again this year.

Joiwch y gwyliau a diolch yn fawr
Enjoy the holidays and thank you again
