Snow Guidelines:

In the event of heavy snow – the school will:
•communicate to parents the status of the school via School Web Site.

•clear one main pathway to the building from the external perimeter (front gate) and one main footpath from the staff car park.
•inform parents (via web site) of any delay to the school starting time- i.e. the severity of conditions may require additional time to ensure that:
1. The routes into school are safe.
2. There are sufficient numbers of staff on site to accommodate the pupils.
•close the front gates for vehicles if the driving conditions in that area are hazardous.
•place grit in strategic places around the school.
•ensure fire exit doors are clear.
•reserve the right to amalgamate classes in order to maximize the staffing complement available.

The School will only be closed as a final resort following discussions between the Headteacher, The Education Department and the Chair of Governors.
