Cricket game:

19th June 2009

Here is a report on the cricket game held in the school last week:

Thursday 11th of June 2009 year 5 played a cricket match against year 6 on the field in front of the school. Mr Rock was the umpire of the game.

The whole school came to watch the fantastic match. Batting first was year 5 with Thomas W (captain) and Rhys. Year 6 fielded amazingly like a proper team - they tried really hard. Eleri caught several balls like a Venus fly-trap. Next up batting were Iestyn and Carl. They hit a couple of sixes and fours. The crowd went wild. Jacob and Abbie ran on to the field like a hungry cheetah. They did superbly. Next on the field were Leo and Ethan - they batted like true professionals. They had a high score. Last to bat were Ieuan and Bethan - they had a respectable score.

Batting next was year 6. Lewis W (captain) and Louis had a good score so far. Next on were Chelsea and Eleri - they had a tremendous score. The crowd was clapping and going wild for year 6. Up next were Delyth and Jay. Year 5 were fielding amazingly. Then Joseph and Dewi ran on to the field like Bolt. Dewi hit the ball up in the air and he was lucky the ball didn’t come down with snow on it! What a superb shot! The last batters before break time were Lewis R and Ricky. Year 5 were still fielding like the West Indies! Ieuan jumped like a wild cat chasing a ball of wool to stop Eleri from getting a 6. The crowd wondered who was going to win this enthralling game.

For the second innings year 5 came out to bat once again. The crowd welcomed back their heroes! The standard of the batting was high. The crowd went wild like a stampeding herd of elephants. Year 6 were doing superbly as well. The final score of the game was year 5 with 133 and year 6 with 112. What a close score! Everyone shook hands and congratulated each other. Thank-you very much Mr Rock for organising it.

By year 5.
