Here are the arrangements for next week at Ysgol Gymraeg Cwmbrân.

** Eco Week: We're holding an Eco week in school this week. The pupils will be taking part in a number of activities based on the environment. See below for details. **

** Walk to school week: Torfaen is encouraging all school pupils to walk to school this week where and when possible. **

Band of the week:
Our band of the week for this week is Llew Davies.
We'll be listening to 'Galli di bwyso' and 'Ti'n graig i mi'.

Language pattern of the week:
Our language pattern for this week is 'Does dim .... gyda fi.'
(I don't have any .....)

Monday:
Whole school assembly to introduce the Eco-week.
(Dan the can will be making an appearance in the assembly too.)
Theresa Pearce from Torfaen Recycling will be holding a workshop with year 2 pupils this morning.

Tuesday:

Julia James from Gwent Wildlife Trust will be holding a nature workshop with year 5 pupils this morning.
Year 5 pupils will also receive First Aid training this morning.
Councillor Fiona Cross will be discussing recycling in Torfaen with Mr Bridson and Miss Passmore's classes this afternoon.
Llinos Mair will be holding a recycling workshop based on new books with Miss Hughes' class this afternoon.
Sewing club for year 3 pupils after school until 4:30.
Choir practice after school for year 3 - 6 pupils until 4:30.

Wednesday:

** Open Day: There will be an open day in the school today. You're more than welcome to visit the school and look at your child's work between the following times: 9.20am - 10.20am / 10.50am - 11.30am / 1.30pm - 2.10pm **
Richard Evans will be holding a workshop about birds with Mr Bridon's class this morning and in the afternoon, the pupils will be building bird boxes to put in the school garden.
Mrs Touhig will be holding recycling workshops with all Foundation Phase classes today.
Anvil Forge Blacksmith will be discussing ideas for the school roundabout with the Eco-committee members this morning. (09:30 - 10:30)
#WheelieWednesday: We're encouraging the pupils to come to school on their bikes/scooters today.
Welsh lessons in school today for parents / guardians with 'Learn Welsh Gwent'. (9:15 - 11:15)
Science Club for year 4 pupils during lunch time.
Urdd club for year 3 and 4 pupils until 4:30.
Vlogging workshop for year 5 pupils with Menter Iaith until 4:30.

Thursday:

** Rags 2 Riches: We'll be collecting clothes for our Rags 2 Riches scheme today. **
Ceri Williams, Torfaen's Schools Energy Finance Officer, will be discussing energy matters with year 5 pupils this morning.
Year 6 pupils will be going to each class to give a presentation and a lesson about single use plastic today.
Sea Quest will be holding workshops about plastic in the sea with year 3 classes and Miss Wena Williams' class this afternoon.
Swimming lesson for Miss Williams' year 4 pupils.
Woodwind choir for year 4 pupils during lunch time.
Fitness club after school until 4:30 for year 4, 5 and 6 pupils.

Friday:
** Non-uniform day: The pupils are encouraged to wear green clothes to school today as we celebrate the end of our Eco-week. We're kindly asking for a donation; half the money will go towards developing our school garden and the other half will go to the RSPB. **
Between 11:30 and 12 today, many classes will be connecting with other schools through HWB to share their ideas about single use plastic.
Violin lessons for Mrs Dalgleish's class.
Coding Club for KS2 pupils. (12:30-1)
** The P.T.A will be selling ice cream / ice lollies on the yard at the end of the day. (50p each) **
