Here are some of the things that were discussed in the meeting last night:
The School Uniform:
A list of the prices for the school uniform and PE kit was shared with everyone. The teachers stated that the uniform does not need to be bought through the school – the different items can be bought in a number of shops in Cwmbrân.
If you would like to order the uniform through the school, you can send the order form back to Gwynllyw.
Some of the items on the list are sold in ‘Rugger bug’ shop in Ystrad Mynach. The shop does a ‘paying in’ scheme which allows you to pay in small amounts each month if you wish.
Trip to Glanllyn:
Information was given about the year 7 trip to Glanllyn during the first week of September. The cost of the trip this year is £185 and this includes travel costs, accommodation, food for the week and all the activities Glanllyn has to offer such as canoeing, rafting, high ropes, swimming and skating etc.
Dates to note:
Parents are invited to a meeting at Ysgol Gyfun Gwynllyw on Thursday, June 26th. This will give you an opportunity to pay for Glanllyn if you wish and pay for the school uniform / PE kit.
You should all receive a letter about the school buses by the end of May.
