A letter from the Governors:

29th November 2013

On behalf of the Governing Body of Ysgol Gymraeg Cwmbran, I would like to extend our sincere thanks for the support you give to the school community.

Dear Parents/Carers

We are all very proud of our successful school and wanted to share some updates and initiatives the school has recently undertaken.

You will have noticed the considerable investment to secure the site and buildings. The school has taken the decision to invest from its own budget as there is no funding from the Local Authority to enhance the grounds or develop the site as we would like at least in the next 10 years or so. The school has installed new windows and replaced rotting sills. This is already making the school more secure and warmer too. A new fence is currently being erected around the site to protect our school, the grounds and link the area at the back of the school in a secure manner. It is essential as the school is so full and over capacity that all areas are used effectively for safety. We would hope to further develop this land as a sports field or play area in the future with an easily accessible path and railings. We want to make the most of our school and grounds.

Careful financial planning and budget monitoring has enabled the school to invest in this way for all pupils. The school has wisely prioritised essential works whilst not compromising on teaching and learning resources. New laptops and latest technology have also received investment to support all pupils. The PTA have also supported this drive and aided the purchase of more laptops.

Our school consistently celebrates excellent results and this learning legacy means we are full and over capacity. This looks set to continue year on year.

Once again, thank you for your continued support. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas.
