A tribute to Gary Speed:

21st March 2012

Some members of the football team were lucky enough to go to play football in Cardiff and watch the Wales match against Costa Rica.

Here is a report by Jack:

On Wednesday, the 29th of February, our school was in the Gary Speed remembrance day in Ysgol Pwll Coch.

First of all, we got on the bus and went to Ysgol Pwll Coch and we met all the other schools. Then they asked us what we knew about Gary Speed. After a few questions, they mixed the schools in to different teams. After they mixed the teams, we played in a tournament opposite the school in a place called gol.

There were three pitches. We played on 3G so we needed to wear our astro turf trainers.

After a few games, we played in our schools and we won a few and lost and drew a few. Then we went back to Ysgol Pwll Coch and there was a ceremony where they gave out programs about Gary Speed.

Then we went to McDonalds for tea. Then we went to the Cardiff City Stadium to watch the match, Wales against Costa Rica and the atmosphere was amazing and everyone enjoyed the match but they were disappointed about the result at full time.

Thanks to Mr Passmore for arranging the day for us.
