World cup day:

World cup day:

14th June 2010

Last Friday was our World Cup day. We all came to school in our countries’ different clothes and were entertained through the whole day and all had a great deal of fun.

Starting in the morning, we had an amazing presentation from year 6 explaining to us about the problems going on in Africa. There is a campaign been set up called ‘Send My friend to school’ by FIFA. Please click the link below for more information:
Then we headed out onto the yard and divided into all of our different class groups. We had an opening ceremony and we walked around the school shouting for the group we supported. For a bit of fun then we had the chance to try and score a goal, everybody took part even some of the teachers! This followed by some football games and kick ups. During the afternoon, we all sat down to watch the official FIFA World cup opening Ceremony. What a fun filled day! Shame England didn’t beat America though!

Please note we give kind thoughts to Zenani Mandela- Nelson Mandela’ granddaughter who was involved in a tragic car accident during the start of the World Cup.

Thank you, Tomos Rodrigues. (Head boy)
