The choir's trip to Cork:

4th May 2010

On Wednesday, the 28th of April, 21 children from this school and 5 from Gwynllyw went to Cork to represent Wales in the annual Choral Festival there.

The children, along with four teachers stayed in Cork for four nights and it was a wonderful experience for all involved.

The choir performed eight times during their stay in Cork; twice in the City Hall in front of the Mayor, once in a library, once in a five star hotel, once in an international centre, once in a church and in two local schools. The children had a chance to sing with choirs from all over the world including the Philippines, Norway and the USA.

The people of Cork were very welcoming and were very impressed by the maturity and the talent of the children. The choir appeared on the front cover of two national papers during our time there and will be appearing on a television programme highlighting the best parts of the festival. Miss Griffiths was also interviewed for the national radio discussing choral singing and how children in Wales sing to such a high standard.
