Haiti Appeal:
By Tomos Rodrigues and Megan Jones. (Year 6)

Ten days ago, a devastating earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale has destroyed Haiti forever. Hope is running out for those in Haiti. Please read on and change a family’s life forever. They need our help.

Haiti is a very poor country and thousands of people have lost their homes. Many sleep on the streets and have no food or water. Haiti is in the Caribbean Sea, on the island of Hispaniola. Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the world and this scenario happened in the worst of places.

An earthquake and scenes of devastation are happening to those in Haiti now. Over 200,000 people have lost their lives so please help to save some of those still alive. Children younger than 10 years of age are stuck underneath the remains of the buildings and have no parents to turn to and hundreds, if not thousands of children are now orphans.

Because of the shortage of professional doctors in the area, many have infected wounds and are suffering from illnesses. As there is only a short supply of clean water, it is hard to treat these patients. Also, a shortage of food is a problem.

We ask you to kindly give money to these people in this tragic situation. Even £1 could go a long way to getting a filter to clean water for these unfortunate people. £1 could go very far to getting medical help and supplies. £10 could give a family a clean supply of water, food and medical help. Time is running out for your aid, Haiti begs for you to help as people are still in need.

Please make a change. Thank you very much for your support,

Tomos and Megan.
